In September 2022, British Queen Elizabeth II passed away, leaving the throne to her eldest son, King Charles of Britain, who was formally crowned in 2023, has more riches than his mother.

As disclosed by the Sunday Times Rich List, the 75-year-old monarch’s estimated personal worth in 2024 put him much ahead of his late mother’s wealth.

Although some social media users and royal enthusiasts may believe that the King has more wealth than the two richest persons in the world, he still needs to work extremely hard to unseat Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk in order to restore the title.

By far the richest individual in the world, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, is still Jeff Bezos.

According to the research, Tesla CEO Elon Musk lost $31 billion in 2024, while Amazon founder Jeff Bezos made $23 billion.

Bezos’s net worth is currently $200 billion, which is more than the $198 billion of the Tesla CEO, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index released in March.

But King Charles’s net worth has increased significantly; at £610 million (7.72 million), based on fresh analysis.

The King’s personal net worth increased by £10 million in the past year, and calculations indicate that this increase was caused by an increase in the value of his real estate holdings. The research was published in Sunday Times Rich List, the most recent issue.

He inherited his late mother, the Queen,’s private estates, Sandringham in Norfolk and Balmoral in Aberdeenshire, upon her death in 2022. He is thought to have inherited much of his wealth from these assets.

The estimated wealth of the king surpasses that of Elizabeth II and is believed to originate from inheritance, real estate, and investments. Charles is currently believed to be wealthy £240 million more than the late Queen, whose wealth was reported to be £370 million in 2022, than his mother, increasing in 2024 from £600 million to £610 million, according to the Mirror, which cites fresh data.

The outlet evaluates the sovereign’s wealth using only personal assets, excluding the Crown Jewels, the Duchy of Lancaster, and the Crown Estate, which the King holds in trust for the country.

The Duchy of Cornwall reportedly paid Charles a private income of about £23 million annually. A portion of it was utilised for his official expenses, his office, and official homes, as well as for non-official expenses for himself and his family.

According to reports, Prince William and Harry’s father, King Charles, moved up from 263rd place in 2023 to 258th place on the list of the 350 wealthiest individuals and households in the UK.
