Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is being demanded $10 million by Ghanaian DJ and musician DJ Azonto for utilising his song Fa No Fom at a campaign rally without permission. In a statement issued by DJ Azonto’s management and signed by Public Relations Officer Sammy Anim, the amount is said to represent the artist’s damages as well as the value of the work. Ghanaians have responded to the news in a big way.
DJ Azonto’s management justified their demand for $10 million in compensation. The Management also said that it represents the worth of the work and the harm done to the artist and management as a result of its abuse in such a prominent campaign.
